Adventure treks are for trekkers who want the Himalaya at full strength. Here you will find our 15 toughest journeys, from 9 to 24 days, priced from US$ 750.

These routes cross the great passes of Nepal. Think Thorong La (5,416 m), Larkya La (5,106 m), Kang La (5,360 m), and the famous Everest Three Passes. In the far west, Upper Dolpo runs 24 days through a restricted highland kingdom. In the east, Makalu Base Camp hides beneath the world’s fifth highest peak. And between them sit Manaslu, Nar Phu, and the high Everest valleys.

Most of these treks rate 4 to 5 on the Spade Trek Difficulty Scale. So train before you come, and plan for long days above 4,000 m. As a reward, you get empty trails, wild country, and stories worth keeping.

How fit do I need to be for an adventure trek?

Fit enough to hike six to eight hours a day, several days in a row. Most of these routes rate 4 to 5 on our difficulty scale. So we recommend at least one previous multi day trek before booking.

Which is the hardest trek you offer?

Upper Dolpo and the Everest Three Passes Trek top the scale at 5 of 5. Both demand long days, high passes, and full commitment. The Manaslu Circuit is a strong step below them at grade 4.

Do adventure treks need special permits?

Several do. Manaslu, Nar Phu, and Upper Dolpo are restricted areas, so they require special permits and a licensed guide. Of course, every permit is arranged and included when you book with us.
